Umm el Sid

A wonderful and enjoyable dive!

Is situated approx. 10km south of Dahab at "Wadi Qnai".

Its located in a sheltered bay area and can be dived most days.There are maps and signs marking its entry area.

Um El Sid has a small lagoon entrance approx 2meters deep and 4-5meters across,with steep sloping sand.This site can be dived to the left or right of entrance.It can be subject to strong currents.

To the left(north)you have a sloped reef wall to around a depth of 14m then large sand areas(with garden eels)sloping to 30m and beyond.There are large table coral formations and a large gargonian fan at 31m.

To the right(South) there are large stack coral formations that fuse together as they grow creating caves and swim throughs to a depth of 30m.

Guidelines

• Easy entry in nearly all conditions.
• Can be prone to strong currents..
• Suitable for all scuba divers when calm conditions.
• Excellent for snorkeling in calm condition.
• Avoid diving or snorkeling in a choppy sea.

• From Mirage Divers: 14 Km.–20 Min.
• From Dahab Chamber: 11 Km.–18 Min.
