Gabr el Bint ( Boat or Camel Safari)

A "must dive" when you are in Dahab! (highly recommended)

Overview

The name means the "Grave of the Girl" and is part of the protected area of Nabq.

It is about 18 km. south of Dahab, and there are 2 ways to get there:

• A jeep ride followed by camels for about 1:30 hours through stunning shore and mountain landscapes.
• Boat from Dahab jetty for about 1:30 hours passing by a fantastic view mixed with mountain colour and the crystal blue of the Red Sea.

There are 2 dives offered in Gabr El-Bint one to the north and another to the south with the same entrance.

For the north one we start the dive with a deep wall on our left hand and enjoy the excellent landscape underwater decorated with huge lively reef blocks covered at some point with lots of fan corals and enriched with some giant morays sticking their heads out of the reef. On the way back we will experience a completely different view of the dive in the most beautiful shallow and sandy lagoon full of soft corals and stingrays hiding under the small reef tables.
The bonus on this dive is that you can expect anything big to come out of the blue!

Guidelines

• Dive to a max.of 30 meters.
• Possible strong current in the lagoon (mostly from north).
• In case of high air consumption there is a small exit at the lagoon.
• The water is so clear so keep an eye on your depth gauge.
