The simplicity and laid back feeling of walking a few meters from a cozy restaurant, and entering the sea for a shore dive is one of the highlights of diving in the coastal town of Dahab.
A few fin kicks off shore you might find yourself diving among rare and fascinating marine life one day and penetrating the Canyon or getting thrilled by the rich blue of the Blue Hole the next.
You’ll forge fond memories of your dives, not only of the beautiful dive sites and unmatched marine life, but of the relaxed atmosphere as every dive gets done in a fascinating laid back Bedouin surroundings immersed in historical and cultural qualities of the region. which together make Dahab a lovely diving mosaic.
The majority of dive sites in Dahab are accessible by shore, including the world famous Blue Hole and Canyon. And it is good to know that the shore diving in Dahab has something for everyone to enjoy! From coral gardens and pretty shallow dives to drop offs and caves.
How do you get to the dive sites?
We provide transportation with our cars (jeeps and double-cabin vehicles) to every shore site in Dahab, the furthest location being only 25 minutes by car. It doesn’t stop there! Mirage Divers is based directly between two of the most varying topographical local dives in Dahab; "The Lighthouse" and stunning "Eel Garden" plus our own house reef! You can even kit up at the diving center and walk to the dive sites..
What do we do between dives?
After settling down in a welcoming Bedouin restaurant, you can sip fresh juice as your guide delivers a dive briefing. Between dives, you can lay in the shade enjoy a delicious savory meal, and simply rest before the second dive. Diving in Dahab is all about having world famous reef and marine life close at hand, allowing you enjoy your dives and still have time left to explore the town!
And what about shore night dives?
The top dive site in Dahab for a phenomenal night dive is the famous Lighthouse. The best part? It’s located 2 minutes away from Mirage Divers.
