Dahab Dive Sites
Ras Abu Galoum
Camel diving at its best!
This site is about 8 km. north of the Blue Hole and 20 Km from Dahab and normally it takes about 1:30 hours from Blue Hole on camels or by foot.
Ras Abu Galoum area is one of Sinai's National Parks (500 squares km.) with an amazing coral reef ecosystem. The shore is surrounded by high mountains with deep valleys, a protected area with approx 165 plant species (44 of which are endemic).
This dive site is situated a little bit north of the cape and it offers one of the best underwater landscapes. The shore entry is through a small split in the reef which takes us to the never ending sandy slope with stunning huge hard corals. A beautiful coral tower in the shallows is covered with ever present orange anthias, and during the dive we might encounter different kinds of sweepers and butterfly fish and much more.
